Private Pilot Questions

No. Most students begin with a discovery flight and zero hours. We build a training plan around your goals, schedule and budget from there.
The FAA minimum is 40 flight hours. Most students finish between 60 and 70 hours. Training two to three times per week and studying between lessons is the best way to finish efficiently.
Our estimate covers aircraft rental, flight instruction, ground instruction, and all required dual and solo flight training at the FAA minimum. See the pricing page for a realistic planning estimate and the additional costs to budget for, such as your medical exam, knowledge test and checkride fee.
You will need at least a third-class FAA medical certificate before you can solo. We recommend scheduling it with an Aviation Medical Examiner early in your training.
